Mr. Alan Waxman
Managing Director, Goldman Sachs
Alan co-heads the special opportunities group, which includes the specialty lending group, the middle market lending platform, and the alternative energy investing group, which focuses on making investments in the wind, biofuels, solar and geothermal industries. Prior to that, he co-headed the special situations investing group, which invests Goldman Sachs' capital across the capital structure with a focus on investing in undervalued companies in both the public markets and in private transactions.
Alan joined Goldman Sachs in 1998 and became a managing director in 2004. He currently sits on the boards of Horizon, First Solar, Iogen Corporation, and Changing World Technologies. Alan earned a degree in international relations from the University of Pennsylvania.
