John Ashton, Chief Executive of E3G (Third Generation Environmentalism), was appointed as the UK Foreign Secretary’s Special Representative for Climate Change. He supports Mrs Beckett and UK Ministers in helping to build a stronger political foundation for international action on climate change. He works closely with other government departments as well as national and international stakeholders to create the conditions for an accelerated shift in investment towards a low carbon global economy, including through the Gleneagles Dialogue on Climate Change, Clean Energy and Sustainable Development, launched at last year’s Gleneagles Summit.
